Compact Integrity Clamp
Project Description
IK Subsea was contacted to urgently address a pipeline failure off the West African coast, where a crack spanning approximately 180 degrees was identified on a 12-inch diameter pipeline located at a depth of around 1500 meters. To tackle this issue, an ROV was employed to install a specialized clamp.
The clamp, designed to accommodate a size range of 4 inches to 32 inches, features a pressure rating of up to 600 bar. It can be installed either by a diver or an ROV, offering flexibility in deployment. The integrated torque units, which are removable, enable all clamp functions (open/close/set/unset) to be operated hydraulically through male-female hot stab-receptacle ports.
Furthermore, the clamps were coated according to NORSOK M-501 standards and are designed in accordance with DNVGL-RP-F113 and DNVGL ST N001 guidelines. The design pressure for these clamps was set at 280 bar, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness in managing the emergency repair situation.
