Project Description

In mid-March 2023, IK Subsea fulfilled the delivery of a repair clamp for a 12” pipeline to a valued customer. Designed, fabricated, and tested by IK Subsea, this contingency repair clamp, equipped with an installation frame, was specifically tailored for a water injection pipeline.

The repair clamp boasts a hinged design with hydraulic cylinders for seamless positioning, opening, and closing operations. Upon correct placement, clamping bolts are inserted, and the clamp halves are securely closed and mated using guide pins.

Enhancing the pressure-retaining clamp body, a double row of elastomer seals is strategically positioned at each end. Activation occurs with the compression ring, ensuring a reliable seal once the clamp is in position and the clamping bolts are fully set and tensioned/torqued.

With a design pressure of 200 bar, a total length of 4.1 meters, and compatibility with a 4’’ piggy bag line, the clamp is verified for sour service resistance and design by DNV.
